A New Year and a New Blog
Pain is temporary. Pride is prejudice. No, wait. That’s not right. Pain is pride? Pride is temporal? Look, I’ll be honest. I’m at mile 18 of a 22-miler and I’m not thinking super clear. Also my Achilles thing is bugging me. I want pancakes. ~Mark Remy

It probably happens every year. I make a slew of resolutions that I don’t keep. That is until last year when I decided I would dedicate my 2011 to running 12 half marathons, and I did! Given that “small” success, I figured it was time to tackle a resolution that I make and break every year, blogging. I think my failure stems from trying to do too much, so my plan this year is to simplify things. I won’t worry about posting daily, or even weekly. I will write when I feel I have something significant to share. I will also keep myself “on” my WordPress editor more often by updating my reading and workout logs. Hopefully this trick will fool me into being a more active writer. Here are some writing ideas I have in my “ideas” folder:
- How I succeeded in running 12 half marathons in 2011
- 30 things I’ve learned before turning 30
- An experiment in making krupnikas
- Funny stories related to my grandmothers poor english
- How many clicks to science (a goofy Wikipedia game my friends and I play)
- Writeups on other projects I am working on like: writing a children’s book; developing a simple cooking website; writing short stories; writing up my family history; improving my golf game
- Discussions about my travels (including an attempt to take more pictures this year)
At the end of the year it’s unlikely that I will have accomplished everything in that list, my goals are always changing, and graduate school and work will certainly “get in the way.” But I think that list is a great start! Good luck to me.
